Established in 1992, the Sri Lanka Chamber of Garment Exporters (SLCGE) was founded during a pivotal time when small and medium-scale garment manufacturers faced significant challenges in accessing textile quota allocations. Since then, we have grown to become the leading voice of the SME apparel sector, advocating for fairness, opportunity, and sustainable growth.
As a registered entity under Section 34 of the Companies Act No. 7 of 2007, our Chamber is fully committed to upholding the objectives outlined in our Articles of Association. We exist to support, promote, and protect the interests of Sri Lanka’s small and medium-sized apparel manufacturers — the true engine behind the nation’s thriving garment industry.
To champion the enduring presence of SME apparel manufacturers as a vital pillar of Sri Lanka's economy, providing comprehensive support and strategic initiatives that empower growth and innovation.
To create a thriving ecosystem for innovation, fair trade, and sustainable growth in the apparel industry, positioning Sri Lanka as a global leader in ethical manufacturing.
At SLCGE, we work diligently to ensure the voices of our members are heard at the highest levels. Our Executive Committee Members regularly engage with key government institutions, including:
Through these partnerships, we ensure that the concerns, challenges, and aspirations of SME garment manufacturers are brought to the forefront of national industry policy and planning.
